Sorry for the lack of response! Sadly mum passed away on July 5th 2015, it was & still is a rough time.  She had to deal with so much before she left this world & it was so hard to see & feel.  My family has been ripped apart in some places due to stress & dealing with emotions. So no updates but I'm slowly getting back into it in my head. On a side note (if you guys are interested) the extension started on the house & has been going really fast! Thanks for visiting & kind words! Steve x

2015

0 min read
Ok things have been going ok but it's been pretty hard to stay on an upbeat with everything that's been going on in 2014.  Mum has had a rough time but it could have been a lot worse so I'm thankful for that. She is now still having Chemo but fighting a slow battle but small steps hopefully we'll eventually get into the clear! Work wise I've had to get back into the 3d & FX stuff again to pull some money in. Thanks for the comments & the kind words it all does help & inspire me to push myself to get back doing some more 2d stuff! I am hopeing to do some Water colour stuff this year along with some small sketches over the summer.

Update 2014

0 min read
Ok the FX job went well but took a lot long than expected.  During that time my mum was diagnosed with Cancer & since I have been running around from hospital to hospital to sort things out for her & due to the lack of physical & mental enthusiasm I haven't done any artwork since.  I do still look at tutorials etc hopefully soon things will fall back into place. Thanks for the support guys n gals. Steve

Hey there I hope you're doing great =D
I've been through the japanese temples you've drawn, each has an incredible mood I love it!
Foxtrot - Wow!

I want to start creating elaborate backgrounds in my drawing but I'm really a noob when it comes to it :/
Do you have any advices on how to start? Should I redraw random landscapes from google to understands how perspective works?

anyway keep this up, your work is an inspiration !
I'm doing better than I was but things are still pretty rough.

The temple in this piece was completely made up so if you have been there I'd like to go ;0)

MightyGraph I'm a complete noob at this too & the concept you've commented on was just after I finished an only concept design course in Environments with Simon Scales.  He taught me akot but I'd say most of it is already online for free.  You just need to knuckle down & draw places you like. Try different colours you wouldn't normally choose & see how they look.  If they look crap move on, you won't get a perfect environment concept straight away that's why this one looks good & a few other I put up with it look crap.  This was the one that turned out better than the rest.

So yes look into perspective
Paint from google if you can't go out or practice outside.
Keep getting inspired & eventually you'll find your own style that other people will like!  I feel I'm still looking for my style but I guess when I inspire people like you maybe I've kind of found a style for me?!

Thanks for the kind words & shoot me a message anytime you might need some help or advice.
Have a great weekend mate!

Steve

All of your artwork is so fantastic!
